Built in 1906 this unique building is significant nationally and internationally and needs to be retained for the future.  It was one of the earliest indoor shopping arcades in New Zealand before being converted into a picture theatre in 1918.  Pro-Ject Waimate secured ownership of the building for the community in 2007 and is now working on a restoration plan with the aim to re-open this building to the public.
